Ever wonder how Rihanna keeps her enviable body toned enough to slip into those barely-there stage outfits and figure hugging red-carpet gowns? Well, RiRi's on-call personal trainer, Ary Nuñez, has a lot to do with it! And now, the fitness guru is spilling his superstar client's workout routine in an interview with Shape magazine -- just in time for New Year's resolution season!

Rihanna rocks her body with a combination of martial arts, dancing, and calisthenics. "We focus on the core muscles, and we do a ton of repetitions," Nuñez shared. He details how to go through several key moves, including full range sit-ups, sit-ups with torso rotations and two different types of planks. Check out the step-by-step instructions here.

The fitness guru also revealed the challenges of working with someone whose schedule is as packed as Ri's has been this year. "Working with an artist like Rihanna has different demands than most. We train when she's ready ... even if we're on the road and it's 2AM. I'm on call 24/7 with her," Nuñez admitted.

But how about Ri's nutritional habits? "It's more about feeding her to perform," Nuñez admitted. To fuel her high-energy live shows, Rihanna sticks to a protein-rich diet.

"You shouldn't mix starches with protein because there is an enzyme that exists for the processing of starches, and an enzyme that exists for the processing of protein-and they don't get along," Nuñez advised. "Can you imagine two enzymes having a fight in your belly? One is going to win and stay. If it's starch, it turns to glucose-not good. If it's protein, it turns to fat-also not good."

A typical meal for the Bajan babe consists of "fish with a salad or veggies." Nutritious AND delicious!
